Self reflection
I personally enjoyed working on this project, especially with Chris and Shannon as i feel we work as an affective team and are able to complete any task that is thrown at us. My strengths within the project was that i am a good listener, taking on board other peoples ideas as well as my own and creating a fusion of both, keeping everyone happy. Also having a Final Cut background i felt that i have an understanding with the program and all three of us were able to teach each other different techniques, such as keyboard short cuts. My weaknesses through out this project is that not being able to to more images of Alastair we felt that this was an obstacle, however as a team we were able to erect the situation.
The Interview
Having captured 18 minutes worth of recording we then had to narrow down the Wav file to around 1 minute using Final Cut Pro X. We found that this was a challenge. However as a team we were able to over come it as all of us had our own unique skills within Final Cut to get our final outcome. I feel that overall we worked well as a group and that we maintained an organised approach towards this project. Having this mind set, enabled us to finish our work on time with a final out come upon which we are all happy about.
The Questions we asked
We were planning to ask Alastair a range of questions, however during the interview we realised that the questions made the interview go way over than a minute so we then decided to stick with three main questions in which we were able to cut down to present within one minute.
- What first got you into punk?
- What bands were you apart of or are currently with?
- Do your tattoos have any meaning behind them?
We felt that these questions were beneficial for the one minute piece in which we can portray Alastair and who he is today.
Situation with the interview
Whilst conducting the interview, our main idea was for Alastair Gordon to present us with his childhood photo as we thought we could show his journey from then till now. However he felt uncomfortable with this, which we fully respect so we then found images of himself among his bad and used them instead. This was our plan B and we felt like it pulled through even though plan A didn't work.
Equipment used
For us to conduct the interview, we decided to hire out some kit from the AV loans department. The equipment used to conduct the interview was:
- A Zoom recorder
- A Canon DSLR 700D
- Headphones
- Boom mic
- Boom mic stick
- Jack cable
- Mac
After the interview was done we then uploaded the files onto the Mac to be edited on Final Cut Pro X
